GET TO KNOW US
Daniel George founded his eponymous custom clothing line in Chicago in 2012, though Daniel has been designing menswear since 1995. Daniel continues to bring his passion and dedication to his work, providing a superior custom experience for you, guaranteed better than the rest. Inspired by British sartorial tradition and European style, our commitment to quality, elegance, and complete customer satisfaction has made us the ultimate destination for the modern & stylish man.
We're passionate about making you look and feel your best, even if that means steering you away from a color or cut that isn't right. Not to mention we guarantee the fit of all custom garments— that kind of confidence is rare in this industry.
Daniel George quickly became recognized as the leading authority on custom menswear in Chicago and the surrounding Midwest. Outgrowing our first showroom space within two years, we soon upgraded to a 7th floor suite overlooking Michigan Avenue and Millennium Park. As a part of our showroom, we also have an in-house tailor shop staffed by 2 expert tailors—essential to your custom suit purchase and fittings. Daniel George is regularly featured in the Chicago Fashion Community and beyond, in publications such as GQ, CS Magazine (2018 Power Player), INSIDEWeddings, and Modern Luxury Men's Book. In Spring of 2018, we expanded to San Francisco and opened a second Daniel George location in the stylish Jackson Square neighborhood.
We see clients by appointment, and are usually booked out 2 weeks in advance.
MEET OUR TEAM
Daniel George- creative director
Daniel likes to say he is from the beautiful town of Ridgefield, CT as that's where his young family life began. However, he was mostly raised in Winter Park, FL where he attended Catholic school and studied at USC & Rollins College. Admittedly a mediocre student, he didn't enjoy studying business as his "creative juices" were flowing due to his passion for design and personal style.
After college, Daniel spent 15 years of his young life living and working in San Francisco.
Shelly Pierson- business manager
Shelly is from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, and grew up in Westmont, IL. She attended Illinois State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Merchandising and Business Administration. While still in school, she accepted an internship with Nordstrom and upon graduation, was offered a position as Manager of Women's & Salon Shoes. Shelly’s career path at Nordstrom was on a fast-track, and for over 5 years she managed several departments within the Shoe & Cosmetic divisions throughout Chicagoland.
Jeanine Fry- head tailor
Jeanine grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. She attended Illinois State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theatrical Costume Design and a minor in Apparel Design.
Jeanine has worked as a tailor at Buckle and Men's Wearhouse, and currently holds the position of Head Tailor at Daniel George. We refer to her as "the magician" because she regularly amazes us with her talent and skill, solving issues we wouldn't otherwise know how to tackle.
Amanda Gregus- assistant tailor & media coordinator
Amanda grew up just outside Chicago in Riverside. She attended Purdue University, where she earned a B.S. in Apparel Design & Technology with minors in Fine Arts and Global Business Studies. Travel & culture are very important to Amanda, and while at Purdue, she had the opportunity to study abroad on two separate occasions. First, a summer in Cartagena, Colombia, where she completed a Spanish-speaking design internship, and second, a semester at the London College of Fashion, where she was taught by world-renowned industry professionals.
Justin Honra- designer
Justin Honra is originally from Manila, Philippines, but has lived in Chicago since the age of 6. He graduated from Whitney M. Young High School and then DePaul University with a B.A. in Public Relations & Advertising, and minors in Graphic Design and Photography. Justin has been attracted to the fashion industry since he took a fashion design course his senior year of high school, where he designed & constructed a menswear capsule collection. He hopes to continue his fashion education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jake Loncar- designer
Jake grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He attended Robert Morris University where he was a collegiate athlete and studied Business. His introduction to the fashion industry began while working at Express when he was in high school, and quickly advanced from there. When he moved to Chicago for college, he joined a small team at Porsche Design as a Luxury Sales Consultant. After selling high end luxury goods for a year, Jake missed the creativity in designing and styling menswear.
