A Message from Daniel George

Over the past few decades, men’s style has suffered many setbacks.

We had the right idea concerning fit in the seventies, but our fabrications were all wrong. We were introduced to finer cloths in the eighties, primarily from Italy, but the proportions were extreme. The nineties were arguably the worst decade in fashion for men & women.

The new millennium brought few advances, and men were misguided and running amok. As a result, unfortunately, the nineties business suit is still at large. I see them every day.

The industry has changed fundamentally in the last couple of years, and men look cleaner, leaner, sharper, and smarter. Silhouettes are flattering, and men are not afraid to embrace style. The momentum and trajectory of men’s fashion have improved dramatically.

Sadly, many of my contemporaries are still producing outdated garments in ready-to-wear and tailor-made or have overcorrected with the emergence of the “skinny” suit.

Style, quite simply, is back! I highly recommend it.

If you haven’t updated your wardrobe in the last five years, it’s time for us to meet.

Founder & Creative Director

Biography

Daniel began his career in California in 1998 as a designer for The Custom Shop of San Francisco. With a clear understanding of style and menswear, Daniel was recognized and recruited by Alfred Dunhill, London, where he worked as the lead designer and custom-clothing specialist for three years.

Daniel took his inspiration from European style and British sartorial tradition. His knowledge of menswear and enthusiasm for clients led him to begin his own clothing company, the eponymous line being established in 2012. The venture quickly became successful, featured regularly in the Chicago/San Francisco Fashion Community and beyond in publications such as Men’s Health, Elevated Magazine, GQ, USA Today, and CBS. His style advice and resources are sought after by CEOs, entrepreneurs, celebrities, famous athletes, business and medical professionals, and stylish grooms.

Daniel George is now the fastest-growing custom clothier in Chicago with a beautiful new timber-loft showroom in River North.

In the Spring of 2018, Daniel George returned to his roots and expanded to San Francisco to open a showroom in the Jackson Square neighborhood. After years of growth and plenty of buzz, we have become a fixture in the SF fashion community.

Travels

Our knowledge and expertise are born of research from our travels, our instincts, and our fascination with the world around us.

The menswear that inspires us has an origin far beyond our backyard.

Most men seek current style and interesting ways to express their individuality without looking (or feeling) ridiculous or out of step with their colleagues.

Daniel George's clients want modern suits with an update or two; and nice quality garments and accessories to wear proudly.

Daniel’s past trips to Milan, Florence, and Tuscany provided a look at what's ahead for stylish men.

Most recently, Daniel and Ben visited Vienna, Paris, and London’s famous Savile Row for inspiration.
