A Message from Daniel George
Over the past four decades men’s style has suffered many setbacks.
In the seventies we had the right idea with regard to fit, but our fabrications were all wrong.
In the eighties we were introduced to finer cloths especially from Italy, but the proportions were extreme.
The nineties were arguably the worst decade in fashion for men & women.
The new millennium brought few advances, and men were misguided and running amok.
As a result, unfortunately, the 90’s business suit is still at large. I see them every day.
The industry has changed fundamentally in the last couple of years, and men are looking cleaner, leaner, sharper and smarter.
Silhouettes are flattering, and men are not afraid to embrace style.
The momentum and trajectory of men’s fashion has improved dramatically.
Sadly, many of my contemporaries are still producing outdated garments in ready-to-wear and tailor-made.
Style, quite simply, is back!
I highly recommend it.
If you haven’t updated your wardrobe in the last three years, it’s time for us to meet.
Daniel began his career in California in 1995 working as a designer for The Custom Shop of San Francisco.
With a clear understanding of style and menswear, Daniel was recognized and recruited by Alfred Dunhill, London, where he worked as the lead designer and custom-clothing specialist for three years.
Daniel took his inspiration from European style and British sartorial tradition.
His knowledge of menswear and enthusiasm for clients led him to begin his own clothing company.
The venture quickly became a success, designing for high-profile Californians and celebrities including Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and California Governor Jerry Brown to name a couple.
His work was featured and acknowledged in books and publications such as San Francisco’s 7 X 7, Best-Dressed edition. Daniel sold the company in 2007.
Two years later he moved to Chicago to pursue his next clothing adventure…
Daniel George is now the fastest-growing custom clothier in Chicago with a beautiful showroom on Michigan Avenue.
Daniel and his company are regular features in the Chicago fashion community and beyond.
Daniel George is currently in negotiations to establish a San Francisco Showroom.
Our knowledge and expertise is born of research from our travels, instinct and our fascination with the world around us.
The menswear that inspire us has an origin far beyond our back yard.
Most men are looking for current style and interesting ways to express their individuality without looking (or feeling) ridiculous or out of step with their colleagues.
Daniel George clients simply want modern suitings with an update or two and nice quality garments and accessories to wear proudly.
Daniel has returned from Milan, Florence and Tuscany with a look at what's ahead for stylish men.
He plans to visit Pitti Uomo in Florence in January 2019 to participate in Global Fashion Week.
